Who They Were
James is a mystery. I found, in the 1861 census a Chelsea Pensioner born circa 1811 in Bermondsey, living in St Mary Hull YKS. He said he was a widower, and was living with a servant, Ann Jamison. This could or could not be the correct James; I have not found him in any other census, nor can I reliably identify him in marriage and death indexes; he needs further research.
