Henry BRYER's Will
In the Name of God Amen I Henry BRYER of Saint Martins Lane in the City of Westminster Printseller do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say I give and bequeath to my loving wife Anne after paying my just debts all my effects goods and chattels for the support of herself and my four daughters vizt Elizabeth Carolina Philadelphia Catharina and Catharine Georgia during her widowhood and subject to the following conditions that she pays to my daughter Elizabeth one eighth part of the product of my effects goods and chattels when she is twenty one years of age or day of her marriage one eighth also to Carolina on her being twenty one years of age or day of marriage one eighth likewise to Philadelphia Catharina on her being twenty one years of age or day of marriage and one other eighth to my youngest daughter Catharine Georgia when she is twenty one years of age or day of marriage making altogether one half of my property that I die possessed of but in case my said wife should marry again I direct the above legacies to be paid my children immediately the remaining half to remain the property of my said wife Ann during her life provided she remains a widow and in that case at her decease also to be divided equally among my children that shall be living at such decease at the above mentioned time but should my said wife marry then and in that case the said one half of my effects goods and chattels devised to her during her widowhood to be immediately divided equally among such of my children before mentioned as shall be then living and I hereby appoint my said wife Anne executrix and her mirle ? Thomas PEASE of Ingatestone Hall in Essex Esquire and George GRENFELL of Kentish Town executors to this my last will and testament In witness thereof I have hereunto set my name and seal this nineteenth day of September one thousand seven hundred and seventy eight Henry Bryer signed sealed published and declared in the presence of C. This will was proved at London the third day of November in the Year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy eight before the Worshipful Andrew Geltee ? ? of Laws Surrogate of the RIght Worshipful Peter Calvert ? of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted on the oath of Anne BRYER widow the relict of the deceased and one of the executors named in this said will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased having been just sworn duly to administer power reserved of making the like grant to Thomas PEASE Esquire and George GRENFELL the other executors named in the said will when they or either of them shall apply for the same.
