Additional Information

This chart is largely speculation, based upon IGI entries and not yet checked in the registers themselves. Moreover, because of the lack of mother's name in early 18th century baptisms, I cannot be certain that Sarah is the mother of all, or indeed any, of the children - she may have died soon after the marriage and William remarried out of parish, or the William who married Sarah was not the William who fathered the children listed. The last two children had mangled versions of BRIERS for surnames, although their fathers were William in both cases. The IGI has indexed the Kirk Bramwith baptism records from the early 18th century to the mid 19th century, and so I have about a century's worth of BRIERS records from this one small parish, and this appears to be the only productive family in the parish.
