Where They Lived
At the time of their marriage, they both gave their address as 12 Denmark Street, the short street that runs from St Giles Circus to Charing Cross Road, sometimes called Tin Pan Alley because of the number of shops selling musical instruments.
James's first child, Louisa, was born at 19 Wardour Street, in the heart of St Annes Soho.
At the time of the 1881 Census, the family lived at 24 Bayham Street St Pancras. In 1891, they were living in Somers Town St Pancras, at 14 Cleveland House.
