At the time of the 1851 Census, George and Caroline were living with Caroline's parents, William and Mary, at Brandy Pightles, Checkendon. Since George was born in Newbury Berkshire (according to the census information) then it is probable that they married there; there is no record of them marrying in Checkendon. There is also no record of them in Oxfordshire in 1861, so perhaps they moved to Berkshire.
