Collier's Rents was south of Guy's Hospital, on the site of the ancient Marshalsea Prison, and just a short walk from St George The Martyr Southwark. John Henry and Emma BRYER lived at number 14 between 1850 and 1855, only eighty years before this photograph was taken.
