Additional Information

It is not certain that James was the son of George and Sarah, but it is very likely. The fact that so many of his children had the middle name Beard is a good indicator! In 1862, when William George was born, the family was living at 1 Albert Terrace Bow - they had not been living there for the 1861 census. By the time of the 1881 Census, Sarah was a widow living at 41 Johnson Street St Pancras with William, John, Selina, Albert, Alexander, Ada and Arthur. In 1883, when he married, William George was living at 26 Clarendon Square St Pancras.

I believe that son Arthur Edward was away at school in 1891, at Durham House Chipping Norton, OXF.
