William RAMPTON, his wife Mary (nee Young) and three children emigrated to Queensland Australia in 1883 on the Kapunda. The Kapuda was a full-rigged sailing ship of 1,135 tons, built in 1875 to carry emigrants to Australia. It's maiden voyage was to Queensland in 1875, returning to London in 1880 via Cape Horn. It set out again in 1883, probably from Plymouth, DEV, since that is where Julia Mary, the Rampton's fourth child, was born in February of 1883.
