Who They Were

Alice was the daughter of William [George] LEGASSICK, a house painter, and Eliza Ann Frances ROBINSON. They were married in 1870, and although FreeBMD gives Alice's birth year as 1868, she is not to be found in the GRO index, which is odd. There are no prior marriages for William George Legassick, either, so she may have been born out of wedlock but registered as Legassick.

Where They Lived

In 1891, the family was living at High Street Bloomsbury (St Giles RD) and they were found there in 1901 as well, although in this census William G LeGassick (74, widower, housepainter) was also living with them. In the 1911 census, they were living in Paddington.
