Who They Were

William Crane was a Labourer at the time of his marriage and described as such in the 1851 census. In subsequent censuses he was a coachman.

Where They Lived

In 1841, the family lived at Chobham Place; In 1851, they had moved to Hagthorn Chobham. I have not been able to identify Jane in the 1861 census, but William Crane was lodging at the White Lion Inn Cobham at the time of the 1861 census, and in 1871 he was living, a widower, in William Mews Hans Town Chelsea MDX. In 1881, William lived at 10 North Street Hans Town Chelsea.
