Their Children
Who They Were
Benjamin was the son of Charles Ottaway and his second wife Mary Ann Wise. He lost his mother when he was only 6 years old. It appears that Benjamin never married. He died in Murray House, a mental hospital attached to the main Ottershaw Hospital in Murray Road; the cause of death was given as Acute lobar pneumonia and Irregular actions of the heart.
Where They Lived
In 1861, when only 3 years old, he was sent to live in Henley OXF, with Charles and Mary Godley. He is described in the census as a visitor. In 1871, Benjamin was living in Burrow Hill, with his father Charles.
In 1881 he was a lodger in Windlesham, and can be found there in 1891 also. In 1901 he was lodging in Chertsey Road Windlesham. I have not been able to find him in the 1911 census. In 1926, at the time of his death, he had been living in Birch Platt West End Chertsey, although he died in Murray House Ottershaw.
