Additional Information
In the 1871 census return, William Henry was found living with his parents in Basingstoke. In 1881, he was living with his sister Mary Ann and her husband Charles TUBB in Mill Green Hartley Wintney. I have been unable to identify him in 1891, but in 1901 there is a likely candidate living in Thames Ditton, with wife Julia and daughters Minnie and Florence.
It seems that tragedy struck at some point during the next decade. In 1911, I found William a patient in the Kingston Union Workhouse Infirmary; and there is a Julia of the right age an inmate in the Surrey County Lunatic Asylum at Woking SRY. Minnie was working as a general domestic servant in 1911, in the home of Frank and Annie Maria NICKALLS in Winchester; Frank was a Railway Clerk originally from Thames Ditton, so I wondered if he might me a friend of William's. Florence, despite being only 14, was a housemaid in the house of Stanley GIFFARD, a bailiff, in Thames Ditton SRY.
