Additional Information

In the 1911 census, Edward was boarding in Cliddesden, and is listed as just E.E. Rampton. I don't know what prompted the move to Colchester in Essex, but he married there in 1917 and raised a large family.

On his marriage certificate, he is given as just Edward, and his father is named Ernest Edwin; this is odd, because the registration record for his father makes no mention of an Ernest; moreover, his father's occupation is given as Engine Driver, yet in the 1911 census he was just a General labourer, and before that a Soldier.
