Charles served in the Royal Regt Of Artillery, service number 734 Charles married late in life, and he married a widow some seven years older than he. No children have been found for this couple. In some census returns he is described as a labourer, in others as an Army Pensioner, and after his marriage, as a Grocer, since Maria was a Shopkeeper when they married.
