Harriett was born Harriett BARRETT, daughter of John and Mary BARRETT, and had been married to David STACEY on 7 May 1859 at Bentley. Harriett and David had three daughters: Mary, Louisa, and Susan, but David died in 1869. Thomas and Harriett married in the Alton registration district, in 1874. In 1881, they were living at Isington, Binstead, with stepdaughter Susan STACEY.
