There were no Ramptons living in Monk Sherborne at the time of the 1891 census. The last Rampton marriage had taken place there in 1867, no children had been baptised there after 1870, and Christopher was the last Rampton to be laid to rest at All Saint's Church in 1865. The Ramptons had finally moved away from their roots, after 250 years, and spread themselves over three continents.
