Catherine Rampton, born in Tadley in 1835, and a member of the Monk Sherborne Ramptons, seems to have emigrated to America along with her two brothers, Anthony and Edmund. I have found a reference to her on the web, on Jan Devan's site.

Ruth RAMPTON features on this page. From contact with the author of this site, I have discovered that this Ruth RAMPTON was descended from the Utah RAMPTONs originally from Medstead and Alresford in Hampshire.
Dave Aldworth's Website from which you can download a pdf format file containing Dave's genealogical research. In it he covers the family of Albert RAMPTON (born 1867 in Tadley). [2020 update: Sadly Dave Aldworth's website seems to have disappeared.]

Ramptons in Australia

Antipodean Ramptons can be found in the later generations of my Family Tree. See John Rampton of Tadley and go to William RAMPTON (born 1851) for the family which emigrated to Queensland. This family can also be found at Peter Worley's website. [2020 update: Peter's excellent resource seems to have disappeared from this address]

Meanwhile a completely different family of RAMPTONs, originating in Whitchurch, also emigrated to Australia. I am currently in the process of identifying these and tying up loose ends, at which point I shall publish my findings.
