Additional Information

Charles is buried in the same grave as his father Joseph. Some of the information on his first wife, Charlotte Maria, is taken from her headstone in Eye & Dunsden Churchyard. Charlotte and Edith were sisters.

In 1871, Charles was a farm labourer working for Henry Cane in Swallowfield BRK; I have not been able to find him in 1881, but in 1891, he and Charlotte were living with her mother, Emma Williams. I have been unable to trace any children from Charles and Charlotte's marriage.

In 1901, Charles and new wife Edith were living in Eye & Dunsden with son Vivian; in 1911, they were still in Eye & Dunsden with five children and widowed father Joseph.

When Cyril died in 1933, one of the beneficiaries was Vivian; Vivian was also named beneficiaty in the wills of Charlotte Fanny LEGG (1949) and Frederick William COMBER (1932); I have been unable to establish his relationship to Frederick Comber.
