Additional Information

Thomas had been a Gunner in the Royal Marines in 1901, having joined up 16 Aug 1892 [Ancestry], whilst brother Henry also served in the Royal Marines in Portsmouth. At the time of the 1911 census, Thomas was working as a mason's labourer in Merthyr Tydfil. At some point in the next seven years he joined the Machine Gun Corps as a Private, and married Fanny in Grantham LIN. Details of his service and memorial can be found on the Rampton War Memorial page.

When Fanny died, her will, proved 27 Mar 1943, named the beneficiary as Ena Maria BAXTER; so far I have been unable to establish their relationship.
