Who They Were
Alexander was the son of Alexander and Marie Dufour. His father had been a Silver Chaser Modeller, and young Alexander was also working as such in 1901. During the First World War, Alexander served in the Royal Engineers (4th Labour Battalion) first as a Pioneer, then as a Lance Corporal (service number 291378). On 18 June 1918 he was awarded the Military Medal. [Source].
Where They Lived
Alexander was living with his parents in Stanhope Street Regent's Park in 1901. At the time of their marriage they were both living at 17 Little James Street Holy Trinity. After their marriage, they lived at 55 Cumming Street in the parish of St James and St John Clerkenwell.
