Who They Were
I am only certain about two of the children above, Frances and William, who both appear in the censuses. Henry was born prior to the marriage, but registered as HOLMES with mother BRYER; I have been unable to find any other marriages between a Holmes and a Bryer, although there was a marriage of a James Holmes to a Margaret Bryers in Manchester in 1888 and it is likely that either the GRO (which says BRYER) or FreeBMD (which says BRYERS) is in error here. Similarly, James born 1893 is a bit of a mystery - why was he born in Marylebone, what happened to him subsequently, could this be another misspelling in the official record?
Where They Lived
In 1891 and 1901, the family was living at Huddleston Road Islington. In 1911, they were still in Islington, address to be confirmed. They only had two children in both 1901 and 1911.
