Who They Were
Charles was the son of Thomas GIBBS, a Platelayer, who had died before the marriage of his son. Patience curiously gave her father as Unknown, brought up in an Industrial School. It is odd that she did not know her father's name or occupation, as her brother was there at the marriage and witnessed it. Her mother had died when she was only 3 years old and thereafter I can find nothing about her father, so it is possible all the children were thrown on the Parish.
Where They Lived
At the time of their marriage, both Charles and Patience were living at 45 Chesson Road West Kensington.
