Children of the Marriage

Who They Were

I have been unable to discover any marriage for Stephen; he seems to have been wedded to his work.

In the London Gazette of 28 Sep 1858, there is an interesting notice of a patent application by Stephen:
The London Gazette 28 Sep 1858

Patent Law Amendment Act 1852
Office of the Commissioners of Patents for Inventions Notice is hereby given, that -

Stephen Bryer of St George's Terrace Cheltenham, in the county of Gloucester, Photographist, has given the like notice in respect of the invention of Improved instruments to be used in the sensitizing and development of photographic plates.

As set forth in his petition, recorded in the said office on the 21st day of May 1858.

Where They Lived

In 1841, Stephen was living in the house of Joseph King in Middle Street Yeovil. In 1851, he was living with his sister Mary Talbot and family. In both 1861 and 1871, he was living with his brother and sister in law, William Wyndham Bryer and Sarah in St Georges Terrace Cheltenham.
