Who They Were

Joseph Usher was the son of Charles and Mary Usher. Louisa Kate was aged 9 months at burial; in the margin of the burial register is the note By Coroner's Order.
Joseph and Mary Ann moved around within Hampshire, and so it is possible that other children were born to them in parishes I have not searched, but I have not identified any others in the GRO indexes.

Where They Lived

1861 - Joseph lodging at Bean Lodge Bentworth.
1871 - Joseph lodging with his employer, a miller and farmer, ay Basing.
1881 - 1 Mill Cottage Hartley Wespall.
1891 - Lower Mill Farm Basing, with a lodger.
1901 - 12 Gashouse Road Basingstoke. This address in Basingstoke was also the home of Joseph's parents, Charles and Mary Usher, before their deaths in 1898.
1911 - 12 Gashouse Road Basingstoke, with sister Fanny Holdaway (49, born Baughurst). Census declaration states no children.
