Who They Were

Mary Ann WOODS was the daughter of David WOODS and Elizabeth MURRELL. Mary had been employed as Laundress at the time of her marriage. David seems to have been living with his mother until the time of her death in 1902. It appears that he waited until she had died before he married.
I have been unable to find anything much about son Edward James; he doesn't appear in the 1939 National Register, I can't find any marriage or death records in the UK. There is a suggestion that he emigrated to Australia, but he doesn't appear in any Australian census/death/marriage records either, at least none that have been indexed.

1881 - 1891 - David living with parents at Browning Hill Baughurst; Mary Ann Woods was living with her parents in Charter Alley Monk Sherborne.
1901 - David living with widowed mother and brother Thomas at Browning Hill Baughurst; Mary Ann Woods was still living with her parents in Ramsdell.
1911 - David and Mary Ann living at Pamber End with children Edward, David, Esther and Alice. Elizabeth Mary's name is crossed out on the census return, but she was not deceased nor married in 1911.
1939 - Mary Ann widowed, living at Pamber End with daughter Esther A GIBBS.
