Who They Were
On or about 15 Jun 1921, James William, wife Alice, and their children emigrated to USA.
I have been unable to find a death record for James. I think he must have died before 1933, as Betsey was living with her son Frederick in Woolwich in 1933. He is not listed as having died in the First World War.
Frederick served in the Royal Navy from 11 Sep 1903 until he was invalided and discharged in 1909. From the electoral rolls, it looks like he was married to a lady called Florence, but I have not been able to establish her name or the date of their marriage; neither is identifiable in the 1939 National Register.
Where They Lived
In 1881 James and Betsey lived at 31 Duffield Street Battersea. By 1891 they had moved to 64 Lavender Road Battersea SRY. In 1901, they were living at 62 Knowle House Chiswick SRY, only Fred was at home with them. In 1911 they lived at Railway Cottages Wendover Road Staines MDX; the record states that they had had four children, only two survived. In 1933, Betsey was living with Frederick and Florence at 7 Vandyke Cross Woolwich KEN. In 1939, Betsey was in the Beau Site Convalescent Home White Rock Gardens Hastings SSX.
