Who They Were
I have been unable to find out much about Harriet. She seems to have spent a lot of her working life serving the Otter family of Ottershaw, with a short spell around 1901 of helping her widowed brother. When she died in 1944, she left her estate of £798 0s 3d to George Purbrick, a male mental nurse. This may have been the George Purbrick who was married to her niece Ethel Mary Ottaway.
Where They Lived
In 1881 Harriet was a general servant at Hide Farm Chobham SRY. In 1891 she was a servant to the Otter family at Queenwood Ottershaw SRY. In 1901, she was living with brother John in Addlestone, but in 1911 she was back with the Otters. In 1939 she lodged at 3 Highgate Road Chertsey, living on her own means, and she died at the same address in 1944.
