In 1881, WIlliam and Emily lived at 55 Swinbrook Road Kensington, with Louisa and Emily's mother, Mary Ann MEEDES.
By the time of the 1901 census, Emily was widowed and involved in Laundry work as an Ironer.
In the 1911 census, she still had all six children living with her.
Son James was a Rifleman in the Rifle Brigade (Prince Consort's Own) and died in France in 1916. His memorial stone is in Hamel Military Cemetery, and he is listed on the Rampton War Memorial page.
