Additional Information
In the 1911 census, Charles and Annie were living in Kensington with Annie's widowed mother Mary Ann Tombs. Charles enlisted in the 1st Battalion Middlesex Regiment in about 1915, and died at the Battle of the Somme in 1916. He has no known grave, but is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Pier/Face 12D and 13B. Further details can be found on the Rampton War Memorial. In 1916, the family was living at 18 Appleford Rd Kensington.
