Additional Information

Thomas lived in an around Staines pretty much his whole life. In 1881 he and Alice lived in George Street Staines, in 1891 they were in Stanwell, in 1901 in Egham, and in 1911 back in Staines. He also seems to have worked for the same company; in every census he had some job to do with candles and tallow chandlery. This may have been Smith's Candle Factory, which was a large enterprise in the centre of Staines, from the 1850s until 1924, when it burnt to the ground pouring molten wax into the drains and blocking them.
