In the 1851 Census John was living with his widowed father, William; in the 1881 Census, John was alone, described as unmarried, living in Midsomer Norton, Somerset, and working as a Maltster. In 1891, he was back in Crux Easton, living with his sister Mary and her husband Charles CUMMINS. When he died, in 1897, his will (proved 9 Mar 1897) named Henry and Ann PEARCE as beneficiaries; I have been unable to identify who these people are.
