Was Richard the elder brother, or even the father, of William RAMPIAN or of John RAMPIAN both of Leicester, or are they entirely unrelated? Hallaton is not near Leicester, but Richard could have moved to the country when he married, or William and John could have moved to the city from Hallaton. I have grouped these three families together because they use a common spelling for their surname, but that may just have been a quirk of the parish clerk in Leicester, or in Hallaton. The whole Leicester contingent could benefit from further research.
