Additional Information

Hubert is listed as Herbert in the GRO, but he married as Hubert, named his son Hubert William, and when he emigrated to USA he called himself Hubert, do I think that is his correct name.

In 1901, Hubert and Alice were living with Alice's parents at 6 North End Grove Portsmouth. I have been unable to find them in the 1911 census, perhaps they were living in America, as I cannot find a record of Alice's death either.

On 14 Jul 1923, Hubert entered the USA at Ellis Island, on the ship Zeeland from Southampton, destination Fairfield Connecticut. He was described as a widower, aged 41, of Fareham. For his next of kin he gave his father James, address Bath Road Fareham.

On 24 Feb 1928, he again entered USA at New York, this time on the ship Arabic from Southampton. This time his destination was given as Rowayton Connecticut. I have not been able to discover anything further as yet.
