In 1901, William George was a Railway Clerk, living in Battersea SRY; after that, his whereabouts are a little indistinct. There is, in the 1911 census, a William born 1873-ish in Richmond SRY in the Wandsworth Workhouse, who said he was a Solicitor's clerk, but I think he is the same as the William in 1901 who was in the same workhouse but described as a Railway Clerk. I can't find any marriages or deaths registered for William George in the timeframe, unless he married quite late in life. More research needed here.
