Pamber at the time of the 1861 Census

In 1861, living at Pamber Back Lane, was the family of Thomas and Ann RAMPTON, with daughter Lucy (4) and son Alfred (3). Thomas was a hoopmaker. See the full list of 1861 Ramptons for other families in 1861.

Pamber at the time of the 1871 Census

Thomas and Ann RAMPTON are still living in Pamber in 1871, now at an address called Blackfans. As well as Lucy and Alfred, they now have more children: Arthur (9), Albert (4), and Abel (1). In addition, the household contained two unmarried relatives (brothers) of Ann, David and George CRIPPS.
