Additional Information
Mary Mattingley, signing herself plain Mary, married David KIMBER on 12 May 1856, when she was 22 and he was 21. David is described as a bachelor labourer of MS (although later census investigation suggests he may have been born at Pamber), son of Thomas Kimber, also a labourer. It was Mary who registered the deaths of both her parents. In the 1881 Census, Mary and David were living near Charter Alley with seven children. David is described as a Farm Labourer, and Mary is very proud of her middle name, because she is named Mary Mattingley Kimber in the census entry.
