Additional Information

In 1887, when Emma Eliza married James, she already had a 4-year-old daughter, Ellen Flora; although Ellen is named HIGGS in 1891, when the family was living with Emma's widowed mother Jane HIGGS, when she married she married as RAMPTON. I have only been able to trace marriages for Ellen and Elsie.

In 1891, the family was living with Jane HIGGS in Windlesham. The children named in the census are Ellen F Higgs, Emily J Rampton, and Charles J Rampton. In 1901, James, Emma (called Eliza in the census) were living in Aldershot with daughter Ellen, now 19. In 1911, they lived in Ewshot with Elsie.
