On 15 Jan 1940, Albert enlisted in the Queen's Royal West Surrey Regiment, service number 6093919, and fought with the Sherwood Foresters and the Duke of Wellington's West Riding Regiment in India and Burma. Albert Frank was killed whilst serving in Burma (Myanmar) in 1944; further details can be found on the Family War Memorial
