Additional Information
At the time of the 1881 census, Alfred and Elizabeth were living in Reading Road Mortimer, Berkshire; I have not been able to find any children born to this couple. When Walter James was born in 1894, Alfred and second wife Hannah were living at Windmill Road Mortimer. By the time of the 1901 census they had moved to Englefield Berkshire, and Alfred was described as Carter Estate Works - presumably working on the Englefield Estate.
In 1911, All three children were living at home (Alfred Stanley was named Stanley in this census), and also a "daughter Mable" born 1898. I think this is actually a niece, since she appears to have been living with her grandparents Thomas and Ann Rampton in 1901. I am still trying to determine her parentage, but the GRO has her mother's maiden name as RAMPTON.
Alfred Stanley served in the Royal Field Artillery (service number 163936), but I have as yet been unable to find any further details, either marriage or death for him. I know he was not among the declared war dead for WW1, and he does not appear as a POW for that regiment.
